The faculty’s mandate, like all programmes run in the University, is to combine academic work with field practical in order to achieve sustainable agri-food systems in Ghana. The faculty currently offers two-year diploma, four-year BSc/B. Ed, and postgraduate degree programs in Agricultural Technology, Agribusiness, Agricultural Science Education, Family and Consumer Science, and Food Science and Technology.

Students in their final year of BSc. Agricultural Technology can specialise in Animal Science, Agricultural Mechanisation and Irrigation Technology, Agricultural Economics and Extension, Horticulture, Crop Science, Agriculture Biotechnology, or Soil Science, while those in Family and Consumer Sciences can specialise in Hospitality Management, Food and Nutrition, Textiles and Apparel Construction and Development, or Child Studies. Students in their final year of BSc. Agribusiness programme can also choose to specialise in Agricultural and Resource Economics, Agricultural Administration and Marketing, and Agribusiness management and Finance. Students in their final year of B.Ed. Agricultural Science Education can also specialise in General Agriculture, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry options.

The faculty is committed to developing demand-driven programmes to meet the job market's ever-changing labour force requirements. As a result, the faculty is currently working on programs in Food Systems and Climate Change, as well as Creative Design and Technology.

The Diploma programs are intended for prospective students who have not met the entry requirements for degree programs but wish to further their education in General Agriculture, Agricultural Science Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Agricultural Biotechnology. Students who graduate from the diploma programmes with good grades are enrolled in various levels of the BSc programmes based on their final grade
