The University for Development Studies (UDS) will hold its April Congregation for all postgraduate graduands and some undergraduate graduands from the School of Nursing and Midwifery and Faculty of Sustainable Development Studies on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

According to the Registrar of the University for Development Studies, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, all is set for the ceremony which will take place at the Multi-purpose Auditorium, opposite the Central Administration, Tamale Campus at 9: 00 am.

“A Rehearsal session will be done on Friday April 29, 2022 at the Multi-purpose Auditorium, Tamale Campus at 3:00pm. It is obligatory for all Graduands to attend”, the Registrar added.

According to Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, all Graduands (Undergraduates and Graduates) will be required to pay an amount of Two Hundred and Ninety Ghana Cedis (GHS290.00) as Graduation fees. He said all graduation fees should be paid at any branch of Stanbic Bank, Zenith Bank, GCB, NIB, ADB, Prudential Bank and Ecobank before, or on April 29, 2022.

Graduands attending the ceremony will be expected to make their own arrangements for transportation, accommodation and meals. He emphasised that graduands are expected to make full payment of all fees owed the University before their Certificates will be released.

Addressing the issue of dress code for the ceremony, the Registrar said the academic gown should be worn over formal attire, adding that graduands who do not adhere to this will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.

He indicated that all Graduands are expected to collect academic gowns at the Stores at the Central Administration on Friday April 29, 2022. Graduands will be required to show evidence of payment of the graduation fees and their students’ identity cards before the gowns are issued.

“Graduands are expected to return the gowns to the stores immediately after the Graduation Ceremony. Failure to do so after a week will attract a penalty of Fifteen Ghana cedis (GHC15) a day”, he said.

Regarding the processes and procedures involved in the collection of certificates, the registrar said an original copy of the pay-in-slip should be submitted at the point of collection of certificates on the campus after the ceremony. He advised graduating students not to post the original copy to the Registrar. Other documents needed include a fully signed original clearance form and a ssubmission of gown clearance form.

Graduating students are expected to be seated by 8.30am.
