The University for Development Studies invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into the Bachelor of Art (BA) in Creative Art and Technology programme, offered at the Nyankpala Campus under the Faculty of Industrial Art and Technology.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants

Credit passes in:

1. Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics (Core), and Integrated Science or Social Studies
2. Electives: Any three (3) electives from the following disciplines:
3. Visual Arts: General Knowledge in Art, Picture Making, Sculpture, Textile, Jewellery, Leather Work, Ceramics, Basketry, Graphic Design
4. Home Economics: Management in Living, Clothing and Textiles, Biology, Chemistry, Food & Nutrition, General Knowledge in Art
5. Technical: Woodwork, Building Construction, Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Plumbing
6. General Science: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, ICT, Elective Math, Geography
7. Agricultural Science: General Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Chemistry, Physics
8. General Arts: Geography, History, Music, Languages, Literature, Government, CRS/IRS
9. Business: Accounting, Business Management, IT, Cost Accounting

B. GCE ‘A’ Level Certificate Holders

Passes in five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (including English Language and Mathematics)
Plus two (2) passes at the Advanced Level

C. HND Certificate Holders

1. First Class or Second-Class Upper: Admission into Level 300 (after passing an interview)
2. Second-Class Lower: Admission into Level 200 (after passing an interview)

Preference will be given to applicants with a Visual Art background

Other Diploma Certificate Holders

Relevant diploma holders may gain admission into Level 200 after passing an interview
Preference will be given to applicants with Visual Art or related backgrounds

E. Mature Applicants

1. Must be 25 years or older at the time of application
2. Must pass both written and oral examinations
3. Must have passes in English and Mathematics (O’ Level or equivalent)
4. SSSCE/WASSCE holders must have passes in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies) plus three (3) relevant electives

F. Foreign Applicants

1. Must hold qualifications equivalent to WASSCE, SSSCE, or GCE O/A Levels, as evaluated by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC)
2. Must provide evidence of English language proficiency, especially applicants from non-English-speaking countries
