On Friday, September 1, 2023 the Directorate of Works and Physical Development, WPD, held a handover ceremony at which Ing. Samuel Baba Abiko passed the baton of leadership of the Direc-torate to Ing. Kwame Donkor Debrah.
Presiding over the ceremony, the Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar thanked the outgoing Director, for his services to the University. The Registrar charged the new Director, Ing. Debrah, to continue with the good works and projects initiated by his predecessor. The Registrar advised the new Director to be guided by the Statutes of the University at all times.
The event was witnessed by staff of the WPD Directorate.
The outgone Director, Ing. Samuel Baba Abiko expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Management of the University, Staff of the WPD Directorate, and the entire university community for the support given him during his time in office. He enumerated some of the success chalked up by the Directorate during his tenure, adding that those goals could not have been avhieved without the support of the hardworking staff of the WPD. He thanked the staff of the Directorate and urged them to continue to work as a team and offer their full support to the new Director.
The new Director, Ing. Kwame Donkor Debrah, thank the Management of the University for the opportunity to serve. He appealed to his colleagues to help him to build a team that would be envied by other Universities across the country. Ing. Debrah pledged that he would work diligently to ensure a massive expansion of the University’s infrastructure.
The Head of the Works and Physical Development office on the Nyankpala Campus, Ing. Obed Kwesi Owusu on behalf of his colleagues, thanked their former Director for his mentorship, leadership and guidance and wished him in his future endeavours. He extended felicitations to New Director and assured him of their support as he takes over office.
WHO IS ING. KWAME D. DEBRAH?
Ing. Kwame Donkor Debrah holds MSc Civil Engineering and Commonwealth Executive MBA from KNUST. He was appointed an Assistant Engineer in 2005 in UDS and was promoted to En-gineer in 2009 and rose through the ranks and by dint of hard work was promoted to Deputy Direc-tor.
He is a team player and goal achiever, having supervised various complex projects of the University and that of other allied consultancies outside the University.
He is a Senior Professional Engineer of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, He has also served on boards of other state institutions
Ing. Debrah brings on board, two decades’ worth of professional experience in construction and administration.
