The Training and Development Unit under the Directorate of Human Resource & Organizational Development of the University for Development Studies has organized a professional training workshop on how to publish scholarly articles in reputable journals.

The workshop was held on 6th July 2023 at the Dr. Andani Andan Academic Chamber. The one-day professional training workshop brought together both teaching and non-teaching staff of the university.

The head of Training and Development Unit, Mr. Abdul Mumin Alhassan said, the aim of the workshop was aimed to equip senior members with the requisite know how to be able to publish scholarly articles.

A Deputy Registrar, Mr. Edward Broni, welcomed the participants and applauded them for their dedication to work. He urged them to spend some time to develop themselves professionally in order to contribute to knowledge.

The facilitator for the workshop was a renowned Consulting Librarian for Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Alhaji I. K. Antwi, who took participants through the topics, Scholarly Publishing for Journals, and Scholarly Editing and Proofreading Services. He shared insights on the importance of publishing in high impact journals and provided tips on how to improve the chances of getting articles published.

During the interactive sessions participants had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications.

The Head of Training and Development Mr. Abdul Mumin Alhassa thanked participants for their active participation and encouraged them to apply the knowledge they had acquired.
