A Management Team from the University for Development Studies (UDS) on Saturday, July 6, 2024 paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Nyab Yakubu Andani Abdulai at the Yoo-Naa Palace in Savelugu.

The delegation was led by the Council Chairman, Prof. Alhassan Wayo Seini and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-hassan, among other important personalities. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the existing bond of unity between the University and the Yoo-Naa Palace, in a bid to develop and implement developmental strategies that will bring about the growth and wellbeing of Northern Region and its inhabitants.

The Vice Chancellor in his introductory speech, thanked Nyab Yoo Naa for his continues support to the University and Dagbon at large. He noted that the visit would among other things offer the University Management the opportunity to have discussions on issues affecting the growth and development of not only the two institutions, but Northern Region as a whole. He enumerated a number of infrastructure development projects taking place on the various campuses of the University and invited the chief to take a stroll of the campuses to ascertain the level of progress.

For his part, the Chairman of the UDS Governing Council, Professor Wayo Seini, commended the chief for his contributions to the development of the Region and UDS in particular. He appealed to the chief to rally his colleague chiefs in the region to throw their support to UDS as the Premier University in the Region. He noted that UDS amidst its infrastructural deficit, is facing keen competition from 16 other public universities across the country, and called on the chiefs to help bring quality and affordable education to the doorsteps of their beloved people.

His Royal Highness, Nyab Yoo Naa Yakubu Andani Abdulai was very thankful to the Chairman and his team for the visit.
