Cape Coast – The University for Development Studies (UDS) is making waves at the ongoing Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games, hosted by the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
In a thrilling encounter, the UDS women’s football team delivered a remarkable performance, defeating the hosts, UCC, by 3 goals to 1 to secure a spot in the finals. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams displaying exceptional skills. However, UDS emerged from the break with renewed determination and a refined strategy, scoring two quick goals that sealed their victory and left the UCC team and fans stunned.
The UDS men’s football team also continues their impressive run, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory against the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). This win propels them into the semi-finals, where they will face the hosts, UCC, at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Wednesday at 3 PM in what promises to be a fierce contest.

The men’s volleyball team outplayed the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a 3-1 triumph.
In handball, the UDS men dominated KNUST with an emphatic 45-21 win.
However, the basketball team faced a setback, falling to UCC under heavy home pressure, with a final score of 69-54.
As the games progress, the UDS contingent continues to demonstrate resilience and excellence, earning admiration from fans and competitors alike.
