On Tuesday, 10th October 2023, the UDS Chapter of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UDS), organized a handing over ceremony at the executives a handing over ceremony at the Central Administration Block on the Tamale Campus.
The Prof. Felic Longi led administration, whose two-year mandate has come to an end, handed over to the Prof. Mamudu A. Akudugu led administration to hold the mantle until 2025.
What was even more significant about the new leadership of UTAG-UDS, is that from Wednesday, Thursday, October 12, 2023, the team will not only be responsible for UTAG-UDS, but will double as the National leadership of UTAG.
Prior to this elevation, Prof. Mamudu Akudugu was the treasurer of UTAG-UDS.
Other executives who took over various offices within UTAG-UDS, and who will soon be sworn in as National UTAG executives, were Secretary, Dr Eliasu Mumuni, the Vice President, Prof Victor Mogre, and Dr Nashir Sulemana, the Treasurer.
They will steer the affairs of UTAG national and UDS until October 2025.
Former President Longi enumerated some achievements of his administration including welfare support such as loans and social services, health cover support which is still in policy building process, the establishment of a UTAG club house, an improved promotion process, improved CoS for members, the commencement of negotiations for non-payroll allowances the establishment of local secretariats, among others.
The event, which was witnessed by tens of UTAG-UDS members, was also use to inaugurate the new UTAG-UDS club house.
