The UDS Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA), on May 24, 2023, organised a workshop under the theme “Quality Assurance in UDS: The Role of Quality Assurance Officers’’. The one-day workshop was targeted at building the capacities of the university’s Quality Assurance Officers.
The Director of DAPQA, Prof. Shamsu-Deen Ziblim enumerated the roles and significance of Quality Assurance Officers in Higher Education Institutions, emphasising the need for officers of the Directorate to work hard to enhance the quality of delivery of its mandate.
Participants were entreated to take part in monitoring and evaluation of examinations, internships and community outreach programs to ensure that the quality meets international standards.
Prof. Ziblim urged the officers to contribute their quota to maintaining quality and ensuring that there is continuous improvement in all aspects of the university’s activities. He explained in detail, the university’s quality assurance policy and encouraged the officers to familiarize themselves with the it and act accordingly in order to strengthen quality service delivery.
While calling on stakeholders to help boost the quality assurance improvements, he added that “quality is everybody’s business”.
