Background

Dennis Sedem Ehiakpor (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agribusiness. He served as Faculty Examinations officer at the then Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences and as Quality Assurance Officer in the Agricultural and Resource Economics department. Dennis has provided instruction in Basic Mathematics, Introduction to Agricultural Economics, Management Communication and Leadership at the undergraduate level, and Project Management Techniques at the post-graduate level. Dennis has published on diverse agricultural development issues such as technology adoption, climate-smart agriculture, and participation of farmers in financial markets. Based on his conviction that research must go beyond borders and be integrated into public discourse to affect national policy, he has focused on agricultural marketing, commercialization, and institutionalization of ICT into agriculture and gender decomposition analysis to increase agricultural productivity and reduce poverty. Dennis has worked and collaborated with development partners such as FAO, USAID, DFID, and CIDA. Dennis has extensive experience in facilitating private sector investment into selected agricultural values chains, development of supply chains for agro-processing firms, organizational assessment, and development of interventions for improvement in the performance of agribusinesses and their linkages of producers and viable markets, as well as the development of indicators and results measurement.
