Background
Gideon Danso-Abbeam (PhD) is an applied economist, agribusiness professional and community development worker with experience throughout Ghana. After obtaining his PhD in Agricultural Economics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the African Centre for Crop Improvement (ACCI), South Africa. Currently, Gideon is a senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. Gideon has worked as a consultant for both local and international organizations such as Association of Church-based Development Programs (ACDEP), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Market Development Program (MADE), World Education Incorporated, (WEI), SOLIDARIDAD, Netherland Development Agency (SNV) and Noe/A Rocha Ghana. His research covers farm production economics, impact evaluation, food security analysis, climate change economics, poverty and gender. He has published over 50 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences (FOAFCS), located at the Nyankpala Campus, is the premier faculty of the University for Development Studies (UDS), having begun in 1993 as the Faculty of Agriculture.
