Ms. Gifty Selorm Bansah is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, of Faculty of Agriculture Food and consumer sciences. She has 22 years of professional teaching experience with 7 years’ experience in tertiary institutions. Ms. Gifty has taught part- time at the under graduate level at Tamale Technical University and University of Education, Winneba. She holds B.Ed. Vocational studies from University of Cape coast, Ghana. Master of Technology Education in Catering and Hospitality from University of Education, Winneba and an M.Phil. in Public Health Nutrition from University for Development Studies, Tamale Ghana. She makes herself approachable to students through communication of liking, acceptance and respect for their struggles and strengths. She creates a relaxed classroom environment and integrate experiential learning activities. Ms. Gifty has taught courses such as; Introduction to Community Nutrition, Food, Beverage and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Technology Management, Hotel Front Office Management, Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hospitality Crisis Management, Introduction to Food and Beverage management and Process and Procedures in Home Economics. Her research interest are Nutritional status assessment, Food Product Development and Hospitality crisis management related researches. Ms. Gifty also has strong interest in income generating catering services for the development of the department and the UDS at large.
