Abdullah Karim is a Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Food Security and Climate Change, Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences. He received a first-class honors degree in BSc. Agribusiness (Climate Change and Food Security option) and an MPhil degree in Agricultural Economics from the University for Development Studies. Hitherto to him working with UDS, Mr. Abdullah Karim worked as a Research Associate (Mitigation, LEDs and NDCs) with the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES). Mr. Abdullah Karim has collaborated in working on a number of projects related with Climate Change with the recent past ones being a British Academy funded project titled “ Vulnerability to Extreme Weather Event in Cities : Implication for Infrastructure ,Livelihood and Services and a GIZ funded project titled ‘Updating the Agricultural Sector Component of Ghana Nationally Determined Contributions (GHNDCS).He has also worked locally and internationally with other institutions such as GIZ, IFPRI, Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Ministry of Energy (MoE), UNDP and AGNES. He recently works together with other research associates from AGNES on two policy briefs related to Sustainable Land and Water management (SLWM) and Livestock production in the face of climate change and vulnerability in Africa. His research focus is on climate change and livelihoods, Food Security and Poverty and vulnerabilities.
