Mrs. Mary Awini is a PhD candidate and a lecturer with the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer sciences. She has 12 years of professional experience with the University for Development Studies. She served as the TTFPP and Seminar Coordinator of the Department of Animal Science. She has provided instructions in; Swine, Rabbit and Grasscutter, Principles of Animal science and Ruminant Production at the undergraduate level. Further, courses that include; Introductory to Animal Production, Feed formulation and evaluation are handled by her at the diploma level. Aside her teaching experience, she is actively involved in the management and supervision of activities at the university’s piggery. She is a member of the Ghana society of Animal Production (GSAP), Ghana Animal Science Association (GASA) and Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WISTEM). Mrs. Awini has research interest in the following areas: Alternative feed resources for ruminants and non-ruminants, Micro livestock Production and nutrition.
